Week 8 – BHCFA Junior Mate Training Program

For Week 8 of the BHCFA Junior Mate Training Program, we’re stepping out of the regular training environment for a hands-on experience at the Beach Haven White Marlin Invitational. The tournament will take place from Wednesday, August 16, 2023, through Saturday, August 19, 2023.

As a participant in the program, you are required to volunteer at least one day of the tournament. This is a unique opportunity to apply the skills you’ve learned so far and gain firsthand exposure to a professional fishing tournament environment.

The weigh-in for this year’s tournament will be held in the public parking lot between 2nd Street and Dock Rd., in front of Bird and Betty’s. Your duties as a volunteer will include helping tie up the boats, assisting with fish weighing, setting up vendor tables, and ensuring the area remains clean and professional at all times.

In addition, the BHCFA will have a table to showcase the Jr. Mate Artificial Reef Project, where you’ll have the chance to represent and explain our initiative to attendees.

This is a fantastic opportunity to see big boats weighing big fish and to contribute to making this the best tournament on the East Coast. As a token of appreciation, you will receive a special “Tournament Staff” T-shirt and great food.
