The Beach Haven Charter Fishing Association and its captains have a long and exemplary history as a source of outstanding fishing. Some of the captains also provide exceptional recreation and thrills not involving actual fishing.
Captain Tom Masterson of “LBI Boat Tours” offers visitors to LBI the unique opportunity to explore LBI’s historic maritime sights and waterways on his 2-hour personalized interactive boat tours of Great Bay and Tuckerton Creek. His tours offer a wealth of sights to both historical and ecological locations. In addition, sunset cruises, private boat tours for special occasions, and dock and dine trips to waterfront restaurants are available.
Captain Rob Romanowski operates the “Queen City Cycleboat,” the New Jersey Shore’s first and only pedal powered party boat. Certified by the US Coast Guard for up to 26 passengers and two crew members, there are 12 pedal stations surrounding a central bar. Each pedal station connects to turn a single paddle wheel at the rear of the boat, providing propulsion. Cruisers can pedal as much or as little as they wish. There is also an engine to assist with additional propulsion or docking when needed. All tours are BYOB food and drinks.
The youngsters love the “Black Pearl Pirate Ship” with Captain Frank Camarda for swashbuckling fun on Little Egg Bay. Youngsters dress and act just like the pirates that once sailed along the nearby coastline. The entire family can enjoy experiencing the interactive pirate themed tours and experience. A variety of boating experiences are available including interactive pirate-themed tours, sunset cruises, and even private charters for birthdays, weddings, business, and other events.
Captain Gary Dugan operates a 24-foot tiki hut for scenic tours in comfort, along with BYOB booze cruises in the famous Great Bay area. Located amid a wildlife preserve, there are a wealth of natural sights both in the water and on land to experience with the experienced captain. Captain Gary also offers dinner cruises to nearby waterfront restaurants as well as scenic sunset trips.
Captain Steve Palmer offers cruises on the “SBB Tiki Bar Boat.” This 6-passenger pontoon boat offers cruises in the Beach Haven area in a true party atmosphere. Guests bring their own libations as they enjoy the incredible sound system and other facilities.
Other boats and captains in the BHCFA also provide a selection of cruising events such as marriages, parties, and ash distribution. O
