Island Hopper

Spend the day with Island Hopper Charters and see what’s biting in Beach Haven! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Frank can tell you all about them.

These waters are known for Bluefish, Cod, Flounder, Atlantic Mackerel, Black Seabass, Speckled Trout, Tautog, Scup (Porgy), Spanish Mackerel, and more – with any luck, you’ll hook into a few! For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

Children are welcome, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. You’re welcome to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!

You’ll be welcome aboard a 30’ Island Hopper pilothouse with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Frank has rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.

The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.

Don’t leave home without sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

I have been a licensed captain for 45 years and have been fishing the local waters my whole life. I have successfully built three commercial party boats during the course of my career. The first Miss Beach Haven 55’, the second Miss Beach 75’, and the Black Pearl pirate ship 54’ located at the Black Whale Dock in Beach Haven NJ.
